The Middle East is yet another Australian band, although their name don’t feel like it, I just discovered this year. Yes, we are very Australian friendly in this house.

From now on, I’m gonna try and keep a close eye on the Australian music scene, because a lot of it is pretty much what I love to listen to.

Although for this one, I might be a little too late, since they played their “last show ever” in July (but why???).

Blood is part of the soundtrack of two movies: It’s Kind of a Funny Story and Crazy Stupid Love.

Here is another Australian musician I discovered thanks to my roommate.

Matt Corby is a singer/songwriter who came to fame when he participated to Australian Idol in 2007 (he didn’t win, but was runner up). Since then, he released a few EPs and signed with a renowned indie label in the UK. He recently released an EP called Into the Flames

I just love his voice, which makes you think that he’s older than he actually is; and this song, Brother, is just beautiful.

Another great discovery (courtesy of my roommate). There really are plenty of great Australian bands/musicians out there.

The Jezabels is an alternative/indie rock band from Sidney, formed in 2007.  Endless Summer is a song from their debut album Prisoner, released in September 2011.
